The Skillman Foundation needed to move off their plainly designed and difficult to use proprietary CMS. They could have picked anyone to install a new CMS. But they chose Beaconfire because they trusted us to create a state-of-the-art Web presence. They needed a partner to convey their forward-thinking commitment to Detroit’s children and transparency in grant making through design, features, and technology.
We delivered interactive neighborhood and school maps for users to explore Skillman’s reach and impact. The grantee extranet section of the site is a snap to use for communication with Grantees. The site is a sophisticated integration between their GiFTS database, new eZ Publish CMS, and a custom XML Flash application.
